Inception and Early Years (1961-1975)
Founded in 1961 by visionary entrepreneur Mr. P Veluchamy , CRI Pumps started as a small workshop in Coimbatore, India, with a vision to provide high-quality pumps to the agricultural sector.
Initially, the company focused on designing and manufacturing centrifugal pumps for irrigation purposes. In the early 1970s, CRI Pumps expanded its product line to include submersible pumps, which quickly gained popularity among farmers.
Expansion and Diversification (1976-1990)
The late1970s saw CRI Pumps venturing into the industrial sector, manufacturing pumps for textile, paper, and chemical industries.
The company established its first manufacturing unit in Coimbatore, India, which marked the beginning of its expansion plans.
During this period, CRI Pumps also started exporting its products to neighboring countries including Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
Technological Advancements and Innovation (1991-2005)
The 1990’s witnessed significant technological advancements at CRI Pumps, with the introduction of computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) systems.
The company developed its first range of energy-efficient pumps, which helped reduce power consumption and increase efficiency.
CRI Pumps also established its research and development (R&D) center, focusing on innovative product designs and materials.
Globalization and Acquisitions (2006-2015)
In the early2000s, CRI Pumps expanded its global presence, establishing subsidiaries in the United States, Europe, and Asia.
The company acquired several international brands, including Italian pump manufacturer, CMG, and US-based, All-Flo Pumps.
This phase saw CRI Pumps strengthen its position as a global leader in the pumping industry. Phase 5: Sustainability and Digitalization (2016-Present)
CRI Pumps has been at the forefront of sustain ability initiatives, launching its first range of solar-powered pumps in 2017.
CRI Pumps continues to innovate, with a focus on developing energy-efficient and environmentally friendly products.
